Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-27

Kiki is designed so core editing can work without an account. This Policy explains what we collect when you interact with our servers, sign in, enable sync or sharing, use analytics, or choose AI/API-powered assistance.

Local use

When you use features that operate locally, your documents are stored on your device using the storage available to the current client. They are not sent to us unless you choose a server-backed feature such as account sync, sharing, support upload, or AI/API-powered assistance.

Accounts

If you sign in through a supported identity provider, we may receive and store:

We never receive your identity provider password. We use secure session cookies, tokens, or comparable client mechanisms to keep you signed in.

Sync and sharing

If you enable sync or sharing, we store the content and metadata needed to provide those features. This may include document content, change history, device attribution, access controls, and share links. We use this information only to operate the Service for you and the people you choose to share with.

AI/API assistance

AI/API-powered assistance is optional. When you ask Kiki to help write, revise, or format a document, formula, code sample, or related material, we process the prompt and selected context needed to return the requested result. This information may be sent to Kiki servers and third-party API providers that help provide the feature.

We do not use your document content for advertising or sell it. We do not use content submitted to AI/API assistance to train our own models unless we separately ask for and receive your consent. If you save, sync, or share AI-assisted output, it is handled like any other content you choose to store or share in Kiki.

Device identifier

Each client installation or browser profile may store a random device id in local client storage. We use it to attribute changes from different devices when sync is enabled, group crash reports, and count distinct devices in aggregate. Clearing app or site data resets it.

Analytics

We collect a small amount of first-party usage data to understand reliability and product usage. We do not use third-party advertising pixels or tracking scripts:

Where permitted by law, we rely on our legitimate interests in understanding and improving Kiki's reliability and usage for this limited first-party analytics processing. We do not use analytics for advertising, and you can opt out.

You can opt out of analytics in settings.

What we don't do

Your choices

You can sign out, delete your account, disable sync, choose not to use AI/API assistance, opt out of analytics, or delete local app data in settings.
